COURSE DESCRIPTION

Welding processes; fusion welding and solid state welding, brazing and soldering, adhesive bonding, mechanical fastening. Design considerations for welding. Welding metallurgy of ferrous alloys: carbon steels, stainless steels. Welding metallurgy of nonferrous alloys: aluminum alloys, nickel alloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys, magnesium alloys. Weld discontinuities and defects. Testing and inspection of welds (destructive and non-destructive testing, quality and safety). Codes and standards.
